About Adakum Educational Foundation Inc, (Admef.org)
Adakum Educational Foundation Inc, (Admef.org) is a New York based 501 (C )(3) non- profit organization dedicated to providing educational and health care opportuniuties for the poor and disadvantaged children and their parents in Ghana . The organization was founded in 2006 and obtained its tax exempt status in January of 2007. The Foundation is currently managed by a President (Japhet Aryiku, Founder), an Executive Director (Ellen Aryiku), a 5 person voting Board and a 2 person Advisory Board. The foundation is also duly registered in Ghana as an NGO and has a local management team, in Accra, serving the Southern Region, and at Obuasi, serving the Ashanti and the Northern Regions.
The Adakum Foundation is proud to provide direct support for the following institutions in Ghana as of July 2007:
L&A Memorial Academy at Accra
The school goes from the nursery to JSS (8th grade); and there are 325 children (170 girls and 185 boys) in the school as of January 2007.www.l-amemorialacademy.org
St. Nicholas Primary School
Located at Nkotunsua-Dunkwa in the Obuasi/Ashanti Region. There are 314 children (138 girls and 176 boys) in the school as of January 2007.
The Adullam Orphanage at Obuasi
The only recognized orphanage in the Obuasi/Ashanti Region. The Orphanage was founded by an Australian minister, Rev. Louise Timothy. There are 210 children, some were abandoned at birth, or parents died of AIDS or are children of single destitute mothers.
